Cin7 Core reporting and integrations

Cin7 Core is inventory software for wholesalers, distributors and light manufacturers: stock, purchasing, sales orders and assembly across one or more warehouses. You may still call it DEAR, and half the internet still does. If your stock lives in it and your answers live in spreadsheets, keep reading.

What its API makes possible

Cin7 Core has a public, documented API, which is the tap for getting data in and out. Stock on hand, sales orders, purchase orders, assembly costs and supplier lead times can all be read out live. In practice that means the questions you currently answer by exporting to Excel can be answered by a screen that is always current.

What we typically build

Stock accuracy dashboard

System stock against counted stock, by warehouse and product group, worst offenders on top. About a week.

True margin by customer

Cin7 Core sales joined to your accounts with carriage and landed cost in. The customers who look big and earn small stop hiding. About a week.

The links no app covers

A trade customer portal, a courier, or a supplier feed that isn't in the app store. Usually one to two weeks.

Three straight answers

Is Cin7 Core the same thing as DEAR?

Yes. Cin7 bought DEAR Systems in 2021 and renamed the product Cin7 Core in January 2023. Same system, same data, same records; the login address moved from inventory.dearsystems.com to inventory.cin7core.com. There is a longer note on the rename if you want the detail.

Does the native Xero connection cover everything?

For pushing invoices, bills and payments into Xero, usually yes. Use it. Don't pay us to rebuild something the vendor gives you. Where it stops is any question that needs both systems at once, which is where a reporting layer earns its keep rather than another connector.

Cin7 Core or Cin7 Omni?

Two different products under one brand, which trips people up constantly. Core is the former DEAR, aimed at wholesale and light manufacturing. Omni is the older multi-channel retail platform. Check which one your contract actually names before you follow any guide you find, including ours.

What Cin7 Core already does well

Its native Xero link and its standard stock and sales reports are decent, and there are off-the-shelf apps for the common webshop and courier connections. Check its own integrations list first. If what you need is on it, buy that instead of ringing us. We're useful when the answer needs two systems joined up, or when the connection you want isn't one anybody sells.

Run on Cin7 Core, or DEAR as was?

Tell us which numbers you don't trust. A first conversation costs nothing.
